Game Recap

Strom Thurmond Rebels opened the 2017 season with a big win over rival Saluda 35-6. The Rebels were lead offensively by Jaquan Edwards who had 3 rushing touchdowns. The senior running back finished the night with 122 yards on 15 carries. Edwards also averaged 8.1 yards per carry. Sophomore Quarterback Jaquan Harris looked good in his debut going 9 for 14 through the air with a touchdown. Harris also rushed for 65 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Senior Receiver Tyrek Williams had a nice start to the season catching 6 passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Kicker Lawson reel made several nice punts and was 5-5 on his extra point attempts. Defensively the Rebels were lead by Ford Williams (13 tackles), Tre Moore (7 tackles), and AJ Valentine (7 Tackles). Sophomore defensive back Mike Robinson also added an interception.
