Strom Thurmond High School takes pride in its student-athletes demonstrating Pride, Class, Courage, and the Will to Win. All of those qualities were on display Tuesday evening in the Strom Thurmond cafeteria as the Winter and Spring athletic teams were feted. Our student-athletes did some amazing things this Winter and Spring on and off the field. All of our winter and spring sports teams qualified for the playoffs. Thirty one athletes were honored as All-Region V-AAA performers, one athlete was selected as the Region V-AAA Player of the Year, one athlete was selected as an All State player and two coaches were selected as Region V-AAA Coach of the Year. Boys Basketball Coach Bo Rouse was selected to coach in the North-South All-Star Boys Basketball game, Cyntheria Sullivan was selected to pay in the Carolina Classic All Star Basketball game. Lakelan Rutland was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Baseball game and Payton Smith was selected to play in the North-South Select Baseball game. Maggie Massey won a Bronze medal in the 100m hurdles and a Silver medal in the 400m hurdles at the AAA Girls State Track Meet and Javin Holston and DeAndre Lambert qualified to participate at the AAA Boys State Track Meet.
Seniors, we hope that you will remember the times you represented our school, community, and your family in the Red, White and Blue. You always did your best and exemplified Pride, Class, Courage, and the Will To Win. Athletes, we hope that athletics has helped you become a better person and helped you develop strong character traits through competition and camaraderie. Our Athletic Department is very proud of all your efforts.
