Strom Thurmond couldn’t keep up with Hanahan and fell 7-0 on Saturday.
Hanahan scored four runs in the fifth inning.
Madelyn Wise took the loss for Strom Thurmond. She threw six innings, giving up seven runs(one earned), five hits, and striking out three.
Driggers went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Strom Thurmond in hits.

Game Recap

The Rebels went back on the road Saturday in a District VI AAA elimination game and defeated Wade Hampton 9-0. Payton Smith got the win on the mound tossing 5 and two thirds innings while striking out 9 Red Devils. Jud Childress finished the game on the mound for the Rebels throwing the final inning and a third. Smith and Childress combined to throw a no hitter for STHS. The leading hitters for the Rebels were Hunter Cadiere 2-5 with a HR, two RBI, and three runs scored. Lakelan Rutland was also 1-3 with a double and three RBI. The win secures a place for the Rebels in the District VI Championship game on Monday night at Waccamaw High School. The Rebels must win twice and game one starts at 6:00pm.

Game Recap

In the first game of the District VII playoffs, Madelyn Wise didn’t allow a single run as Strom Thurmond defeated Wade Hampton 6-0 on Thursday.
An early lead helped propel Strom Thurmond to victory. Strom Thurmond scored 3 in the first inning on a single by Madelyn Wise and a groundout by Emilee McAllister in the first inning.
Wise earned the win for Strom Thurmond. She threw seven innings, giving up zero runs, two hits, and striking out ten.
Strom Thurmond collected seven hits. Brianna Walden and McAllister each collected multiple hits for Strom Thurmond. Strom Thurmond was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.
The Rebels play again on Saturday against an opponent to be determined.

Game Recap

The Strom Thurmond Rebels defeated Timberland 10-0 on Thursday night to stay alive in the district playoffs. Payton Smith got the win on the mound pitching four shut out innings and did not give up a hit. Jud Childress finished the game off by throwing the 5th and final inning of play. Leading hitters for the Rebels were Payton Smith 2-2 with a three run homerun, Lakelan Rutland 2-3 with a triple and three RBI, Hunter Cadiere 1-2 with a two run double, and Jaquan Edwards was 1-2 with a double. The Rebels will be back in action on the road Saturday at either Waccamaw or Wade Hampton. Game is TBD.

The Rebels dropped a heart breaker on the road at Wade Hampton 6-5 to open the district playoffs. The Rebels got out to an early four run lead, but let it slip away late in the game. Hunter Cadiere took the loss on the mound. Cadiere threw 4 and 1/3 innings and gave up 3 earned runs on five hits and struck out five. Leading hitters for the Rebels were Payton Smith 3-3 with a triple and Rashad Bryant was 2-4. Rebels are back in action Thursday at home vs Timberland. Game time is TBD.

Game Recap

The Strom Thurmond Rebels beat Fox Creek on Saturday 10-7 in 8 innings. Jud Childress started on the mound for the Rebels tossing four innings and giving up three earned runs. Freshman Will Clark pitched the final four innings in relief and picked up the win. Clark only gave up 1 earned run on three hits while striking out two. Leading hitters for the Rebels were Jared Bass 2-5 with a double, Payton Smith 1-4 with 2 RBI, Lakelan Rutland was 1-2 with 2 RBI, and Hunter Cadiere was 1-5 with a solo home run and 3 RBI.
