Strom Thurmond Rebels Varsity had trouble keeping up with Ninety Six in a 12-2 loss on Tuesday.
Ninety Six scored seven runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Ninety Six came thanks to an error on a ball put in play by Tori Barr, Kylie Campbell, and Barr, a walk by Gracie Lollis, and a home run by L Corner.
Carlee Stockman was the winning pitcher for Ninety Six. She went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits, striking out 11 and walking one.
Emilee McAllister took the loss for Strom Thurmond Rebels Varsity. She surrendered 12 runs on ten hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four.
Ninety Six mashed two home runs on the day. Campbell had a homer in the third inning. Corner went deep in the fifth inning.
McAllister, Savannah Agner, and Taylor Driggers each collected one hit to lead Strom Thurmond Rebels Varsity.
Ninety Six racked up ten hits. Lollis, Campbell, and Corner each racked up multiple hits for Ninety Six. Ninety Six was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Campbell had the most chances in the field with 12.
